my thoughts on eric harris, taken from an online convo
i think he was incredibly misguided and definitely ignored in that so much of his violent behavior was overlooked (which is kinda surface level buttt yeah)
yeah, i think he was definitely desperate for friends and interaction but pushed people away with his demeanour. for example, after the massacre there were so many people to jump to the defense of dylan and say that he wasn't capable of committing the massacre but noone really did that for eric (that i can recall). he'd ask countless girls out and call them incessantly after they stopped talking to him, which is obviously creepy behavior that stemmed from a possible fear of abandonment?
i think the amount of times that he moved around made him think that friendships and bonds weren't permanent so he tried to hold onto the ones that he could, like dyaln
but then his anger issues and general outlook on things pushed his friends (especially girls he liked) away
but i also think his (wayne harris's) parenting had a negative effect on eric. i feel like he was raised in one of those authoritative, angry households and sorta projected that outward.
